Bolygo Pharmaceuticals expands its operations to a new frontier

In early January 2075, Bolygo Pharmaceuticals purchased 5 disarmed Hydra-class carriers from the UCCNZFJ, with the purpose of converting them into hospital ships. The end goal was to have the option of deep-space operations when and where required, giving justice to our motto 'Anytime. Anywhere.'

The first three refits were completed under the direct supervision of Chief Medical Engineer Sergei Kovač. The new Asclepius-class ships possessed the extensive hangar bays of the Hydras, but were also fitted with ultramodern hospital facilites, including the revolutionary SCHWEITZER robotic surgeons.

Only Asclepius and Ein were completed when the Haruna, a White Star cruise ship suffered a catastrophic Deimium fuel cell collapse in orbit over Uranus, in what is one of the most widely publicised accidents of the last decades.

Joint UCCNZFJ - Bolygo operation

The UCCNZFJ space traffic Central in Tokyo station saw the benefit the Bolygo ships could provide for rescue operations. With more than 50 injured aboard the Haruna and life support failing fast, a joint effort was made to reach the ship in time and evacuate the passengers.

The two Bolygo motherships and their Nectar parasite craft were instrumental in providing first aid and evacuating the crew and passengers from the Haruna, while the UCCNZFJ technicians, at great risk to their lives, managed to stabilize the Deimium core. The advanced medical facilities aboard the Ein prevented any serious radiation poisoning.

The Haruna disaster served as a baptism of fire for the Bolygo crews and set the direction the company would follow over the following years. Soon thereafter, the purchase of seven more carriers was approved.
